Merseyside Police, with the Police and Crime Commissioner and their partners and the community, will maintain a robust people focussed performance and governance so that when incidents of ASB occur, the harm is minimised to the lowest possible level.

  • Force-wide performance will be strengthened and maintained to prevent harm, protect people and property, prepare the system and pursue perpetrators by managing risk on every occasion by developing problem solving skills and maintaining excellence.

Repeat victims of antisocial behaviour will be reviewed, as will repeat offenders and locations to ensure any emerging patterns are identified at the earliest possible opportunity.

Neighbourhood Teams, Area Command Teams and Partners will work together, locally, and regionally to ensure activity is joined up right from the start.

  • People-focused partnerships will be developed, recognising that holistic, public health and community safety aspects of antisocial behaviour should be equally prioritised.

Attendance at key antisocial behaviour meetings will be monitored by the force lead, with annual reviews and appropriate action taken in-light of non-attendance.

  • Victims and perpetrators will be signposted to a well-developed, supported antisocial behaviour pathway to ensure the most appropriate provision is provided on each occasion. This will ensure the right support for victims and the promotion of rehabilitation for offenders where appropriate.

This will be recorded on force systems with regular dip sampling to be maintained by supervisors to ensure compliance.

  • Two-way communication opportunities in the community will be maximised, with businesses and members of the public encouraged to attended local forums to participate in the setting of Neighbourhood Priorities to prevent any emerging problems escalating.

These forums will be recorded on the Neighbourhood Policing app for officers and publicised on social media for members of the public.

Resourcing to achieve this goal will be supported by a force-wide uplift of Neighbourhood Policing officers and reviewed by Area Commanders quarterly.
