Many of the questions we get asked on a regular basis are covered in our FAQs and Complaints sections. Please take a look to see if you can find the answer you need.

Alternatively you can contact the Office of the Police Commissioner for Merseyside by using the form at the bottom of this page or in the following ways.

Please note, the Police and Crime Commissioner can ONLY consider complaints about Merseyside Police’s Chief Constable.

She cannot address complaints about police officers, members of police staff, police community support officers or special constables of Merseyside Police.

You can find out how to do this here: Make a Complaint.

Please read the following before contacting Merseyside PCC

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside is a separate organisation to Merseyside Police. We are not an emergency service, and our office is not open 24/7.

What you have to say is important to us, but we ask that you review the below alternative contacts before getting in touch about these specific matters:

Reporting crimes and concerns:

Any crimes or incidents should be reported to Merseyside Police directly, not through our office.

You can contact Merseyside Police via 101 for non-emergency matters and 999 in an emergency. Alternatively, you can report online here: Contact us | Merseyside Police

Police complaints:

Complaints about the involvement of Merseyside Police below the level of Chief Constable should be made to the Professional Standards Department (PSD) here: Complaints | Merseyside Police

For updates on your PSD complaint, you can contact the police on 101. The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner may be the review body at the end of the complaint, so we must maintain the integrity of the process and so cannot become involved before the complaint is concluded.

Traffic issues:

You can submit information regarding any particular road or traffic related issue such as speeding or obstructive parking to the Merseyside Road Safety Partnership, here: Contact - Merseyside Road Safety Partnership

However, isolated road traffic offences should still be reported to the police here: Contact us | Merseyside Police

Requests for police information:

We do not have access to police systems for any data access requests. You can make requests for police information directly to Merseyside Police here: Request information | Merseyside Police
